FAQ

Are you wondering what therapy with me is like?
You’re not alone. Here’s what potential clients often ask, answered to help you feel informed and at ease before we connect.
What’s it like to start therapy with you?
It’s simple and relaxed. We’ll have a 20- to 30-minute chat – you share what’s on your mind, and I listen. There’s no pressure to commit; it’s just a chance to see if we’re a good fit. It’s private, and we’ll move at your pace.
Do you take insurance, or is this cash-pay only?

I provide services through the Alma portal in California and Oregon, as well as the Rula portal in California.  I also accept cash payments. Curious about fees? Let’s talk.

How long does therapy typically last?
It’s personal. Some feel shifts in a few months; others stay longer to dig deeper. For trauma, we might start with 8-12 sessions and adjust together – no rush, just what works for you.
What methods do you use for healing?

I blend proven tools: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) rewires trauma, Internal Family Systems (IFS) heals inner parts, Somatic Therapy (releases tension), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) shifts thoughts, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) builds acceptance, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) builds skills to manage emotions. It’s customized to your journey.

Can therapy help with trauma or complex trauma?
Yes, it can. My approach helps you process single events or layered patterns, easing their weight so you can step into a freer, more vigorous life. It’s tailored, not one-size-fits-all.
What’s the difference between therapy and coaching?
Therapy heals past wounds – like trauma or distress – while coaching focuses on future goals, like personal or career growth. If that’s what you need, I can blend both – ask me how.
What if I’m nervous about couples therapy?

This is normal. It’s a safe, no-blame space to explore together. We’ll start slow, building understanding and connection at your pace.

How can couples therapy help us?

It’s about rebuilding trust, improving communication, and healing disconnection. Whether trauma’s involved or you’re off-track, I’ll guide you toward a stronger bond.

Will I have to relive my trauma in therapy?
Not at all. Therapeutic techniques like EMDR and Somatic let you process without rehashing details. We focus on reducing the emotional load, not retraumatizing you.
How private is this?

Completely. Do you have specific worries? I’m here to help you sort them out.

What if I’m not sure I’m ready?

No pressure. We can start with a quick chat – no commitment is needed. Whether you are exploring or want more information about therapy or coaching, it’s your call.
